Congratulations to Portsmouth Branch Manager, Bobby Smith Jnr, Totton Assistant Branch Manager, Dan Coombes and Chandler’s Ford Assistant Branch Manager, Ian Woodhouse who have been awarded diplomas by the Builders Merchant Federation.

The BMF Diploma in Merchanting covers all operational and strategic aspects of running a builders merchant.

Branch Manager Bobby reflected on what he’s learnt from doing the diploma, “Doing this qualification has given me a better understanding of how the merchanting business runs as a whole. It allows me to run the Portsmouth branch more efficiently and effectively.”

Bobby was awarded a Level 2 diploma, with Dan Coombes and Ian Woodhouse both awarded a Level 1.

Dan Coombes, Assistant Branch manager at Totton, said, “It’s been good to action the things I learnt doing the diploma in an everyday working environment, especially around service and stock.”

Tom Elliott, Managing Director of Elliotts, said “Bobby, Dan and Ian play important roles in making their branches a success and their new BMF-approved diplomas will help them to continue their great work. Their continued commitment to their work whilst studying for the diploma reflects their dedication to Elliotts and our customers, and is a testament to their characters.”

Congratulations to Bobby, Dan and Ian on these fantastic achievements.
